wire-cut EDM, wire erosion
The application of wire eroding or wire-cut EDM allows for the shaping of the most complex geometries of contoured components in injection moulding. Depending on the application, wire erosion in connection with electrical discharge erosion can be an economically advantageous alternative to milling, e.g., if parts are used that are difficult to clamp or if very deep and narrow recesses are required.

Wire-cut EDM is an economically significant technology in injection moulding. The most complex geometries with the
highest degree of precision can be achieved with wire erosion, even when using the hardest type of steel.
